GRAVES ON MESCAL GULCH
By Jim and Barbara Marcel
Little is known at this time about the three graves in
Mescal Gulch, near Mescal Spring. There are two adult and one child’s grave.
One has a cross marked “Husband”. Were
they a family who died here searching for their fame and fortune, bad water, attacked?
Sandstone marker indicating 1901 and across with C. Jones
written on it are the only documentation on site. The three graves are distinct
in that they are partially raised and not flat to the ground or an impression
in the ground.
As information is received on these graves we will update
this information.
